The Company begins trading of Soda Ash products

Sumitomo Shoji Chemicals Co., Ltd. (“the Company”) has merged with Soda Ash Japan Co., Ltd., the Sumitomo Corporation’s wholly owned subsidiary, effective April 1, 2018. As a result, the Company has fully taken over the soda ash business handled by Soda Ash Japan Co., Ltd.

Soda Ash Japan Co., Ltd. had conducted its soda ash business mainly in Japan since its establishment in 2004. The Company has a wide variety of customers and sales rights in the entire chemical industry, and thus this merger aims at enhancing proposal capabilities to clients and business performance.
