The Electronic & Functional Materials Business Unit inherited business from the Basic Chemicals & Electronics Division of Sumitomo Corporation with the aim of increasing the comprehensive capabilities of the Sumitomo Corporation Group. The Unit consists of three groups: the LED Group and Battery Materials Group in Tokyo, and the Nagoya Electronic & Functional Materials Business Group.
The Unit manufactures a wide range of products, such as LED elements ; positive and negative electrode materials, electrolytes, current collector foils and separators as components related to the production of secondary electronics; and ceramic raw materials for automobile parts.
Aiming to further enhance the comprehensive capabilities of the Sumitomo Corporation Group, we will expand our business scope focusing on the automobile field, and enhance our ability to propose and create new value by encouraging the Unit to pursue collaboration with the Basic Chemicals & Electronics Division of Sumitomo Corporation, as well as integration with each business unit of Sumitomo Shoji Chemicals.
